Sarpogrelate (MCI-9042) is a new, specific orally active5-HT₂receptor antagonist, Sarpogrelate increases platelet aggregation and has hemostasis effect, and can be used for the research of Buerger’s disease^[1].

Sarpogrelate (MCI-9042) induces a significant decrease in plasma serotonin (5-HT) concentration and after 2 weeks increases significantly the concentration of whole blood 5-HT^[1].
Sarpogrelate increases significantly plasma tryptophan concentration after 2 and 4 weeks, and no changes in plasma 5-HIAA concentration^[1].
Sarpogrelate also has a tendency to increase the concentration of whole blood tryptophan concentration, did not show significant changes in platelet aggregation induced by ADP and collagen^[1].
Sarpogrelate increases significantly platelet aggregation induced by serotonin after 2 weeks^[1].
