Pulixin prevents FREP1 from binding toP. falciparum-infected cell lysate. Pulixin blocks the transmission of theparasiteto mosquitoes with an EC₅₀of 11 μM. Pulixin also inhibits the proliferation of asexual-stageP. falciparumwith an EC₅₀of 47 nM^[1].

Pulixin, a fungal metabolite, inhibits Plasmodium falciparum transmission and infection. It does not show cytotoxic effects at a concentration of 116 μM or lower^[1].
