8-Deoxygartanin, a prenylatedxanthonesfromG. mangostana, is a selective inhibitor ofbutyrylcholinesterase (BChE)^[1]. 8-Deoxygartanin exhibits antiplasmodial activity with an IC₅₀of 11.8 μM for the W2 strain ofPlasmodiumfalciparum^[2]. 8-Deoxygartanin inhibitsNF-κB(p65)activation with anIC₅₀of 11.3 μM^[3].
