Ganoderol B is a triterpenoid that has been found inG. lucidumand has diverse biological activities.^1,2,3,4,5It inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and α-glucosidase (IC₅₀s = 220 and 119.8 µM, respectively).^1,2Ganoderol B is cytotoxic to HGC-27 gastric, HeLa cervical, and A549 lung cancer cells (IC₅₀s = 16.15, 12.64, and 9.77 µM, respectively).³It prevents herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) infection in Vero cells (EC₅₀= 68 µM).⁴Ganoderol B (0.001 and 0.1 mg/kg) reduces testosterone-induced increases in ventral prostate weight in castrated rats.⁵
