Background:
Dabcyl-GABA-RPKPVE-Nva-WR-Glu(EDANS)-AK-NH2 is a fluorogenic substrate for matrix metalloproteinase-3 (MMP-3). Upon enzymatic cleavage by MMP-3 at Glu-Nva, EDANS is separated from the Dabcyl quencher and its fluorescence can be used to quantify MMP-3 activity. EDANS displays excitation/emission maxima of 340/485 nm, respectively.
