Background:
Cefalonium is a cephalosporin antibiotic.1It is active against pooled isolates ofS. aureusfrom the milk of lactating dairy cows with subclinical mastitis (MIC90= 2 µg/ml). Formulations containing cefalonium have previously been used in dry cow therapy in the treatment and prevention of mastitis.
