Midodrine (R-isomer) HCl, the R-isomer of Midodrine hydrochloride (Midodrine HCl; Pro-Amatine; Amatine; Orvaten), is a phenylalkanolamine analog and an adrenergic alpha-1 agonist useful as a vasopressor/antihypotensive agent. It has been found to increase arterial pressure, thus may be useful in managing hypotensive conditions owing to their long lasting blood pressure increasing effects.
