Vapendavir (BTA-798; BTA798) is a novel and potent capsid binder (CB) that efficiently inhibits the in vitro replication of 21 EV71 strains/isolates that are representative of the different genogroups A, B, and C. It exhibits potent antiviral activity against enterovirus 71 (EV71) replication with EC50 values of 0.5-1.4 μM in different EV71 strains.
