Volinanserin (MDL-100907; M-100907) is a highly selective 5-HT2A receptor antagonist with antipsychotic activity and thus has the potential for treatment of schizophrenia. It inhibits 5-HT2A receptor with a Ki of 0.36 nM, and exhibits 300-fold selectivity for inhibiting 5-HT2 over 5-HT1c, alpha-1 and DA D2 receptors.
