Moracin O is a 2-arylbenzofuran isolated from theMorus albaLinn.. Moracin O exhibits potent in vitro inhibitory activity againsthypoxia-inducible factor (HIF-1). Moracin O reduces oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD)-inducedreactive oxygen species(ROS)production. Moracin O has neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects^[1][2][3].

Moracin O enhances cell viability in dose-dependent manner against oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD)-induced cell death in neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells with an EC₅₀value of 12.6 μM. Moracin O reduces ROS production in OGD-induced cell death (IC₅₀value of 0.3 μM). Moracin O protects neuronal cell death against the oxidative stress induced by OGD^[1].
