Lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) is a bioactive proinflammatory lipid. It is generated during pathological activities and is implicated in atherosclerosis and inflammatory diseases. LPC modifies the functions of numerous cell-types, including smooth muscle cells, endothelial cells, macrophages, monocytes, and T-cells.
