DL-Lactide is used to produce 2-hydroxy-propionic acid 1-(1-phenyl-ethoxycarbonyl)-ethyl ester. It acts as an important raw material and an intermediate used in organic synthesis, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and dyes.
