异蒲勒醇是单萜醇，可用作香水工业中香水生产的成分。它也被用作通过氢化过程生产薄荷醇的原料。薄荷醇是化妆品、药品和牙膏中的重要成分。

应用

(−)-异蒲勒醇可用作对映体选择性制备以下物质的原料：

8-芳基薄荷醇，通过芳基磺酸盐的Smiles-Truce重排生成。,·
·5,9-二甲基十五烷的立体异构体。
八氢香豆素，在蒙脱石粘土催化剂存在的情况下通过香草醛的Prins环化生成。
对-薄荷烷-3,8,9-三醇，通过催化Sharpless双羟基化生成。
