The m-dPEG^®₈-amine provides a variety of means to modify small molecules, peptides, proteins, and functionalized surfaces (metals, glass, and others). The single molecular weight methoxy-terminated dPEG^® molecules are hydrophilic and non-immunogenic of exact length. Modification with m-dPEG^® reagent can improve water solubility, increase hydrodynamic volume, eliminate or reduce non-specific binding, protect peptides and proteins from proteolysis, reduce or eliminate immunogenicity, and increase serum half-life in vivo. The m-dPEG^®₈-amine reacts with carboxylic acids and active esters.
