性质描述:

浅黄色片状结晶。熔点84-86℃，沸点185℃（2.13kPa）。溶于乙醚、甲醇、微溶于乙醇。不溶于水，闪点65℃。

生产方法:

以间甲酚为原料，用硫酸二甲酯甲基化，生成间甲酚甲醚，然后，间甲酚甲醚与异丁烯或叔丁醇反应生成叔丁基甲氧基甲苯，最后经硝化而得。

用途:

该品是硝基麝香中香气最优雅的品种，具有琥珀气息的麝香香气，国内外均大量生产，在硝基香料中产量最多、用途最广的香料品种之一，主要用于配制各种香料与香精中作定香剂，特别适用于高级香水。在一些加香品中的用量为：肥皂0.03-0.2%，去垢剂0.003-0.02，香水0.2-2.0%，香脂和洗液0.01-0.07%。
