α,α-Dimethylphenylacetic acid is used in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredient, fexofenadine hydrochloride, which is used as antihistamine. Further, it acts as pharmaceutical intermediates and as chemical intermediates in synthetic chemistry.
