二氟甲基鸟氨酸是一种氟化鸟氨酸类似物，可作为多胺生物合成的限速酶。它可用于治疗女性面部多毛症和人类非洲锥虫病。二氟甲基鸟氨酸可作为神经母细胞瘤和结直肠癌的化学预防和治疗药物。对哺乳动物细胞和组织具有细胞生长抑制作用。

应用

DL-α-二氟甲基鸟氨酸盐酸水合物已用于降低精氨酸对细胞的增殖效果。它还用于研究双酚A(BPA)对已建立的绵羊滋养外胚层(oTr1)细胞系迁移的影响。
