性质描述: 白色粉末状或片状结晶。熔点128.7-129℃，沸点254℃（2.0kPa），245℃（1.33kPa），摩尔燃烧热6.740MJ/mol。在水中溶解度小，热稳定性好。
生产方法: 工业上可将丁二烯三聚得环十二碳三烯，再经加氢制成环十二烷，再用硝酸氧化经过环十二烷酮而得十二双酸。也可由环已烷为原料，在甲醇中与过氧化氢反应，制成烷氧基环已基过氧化物，再开环、二聚，生成十二双酸甲酯。再经皂化，即可制得十二双酸。实验室制备时，以环十二烷醇为原料，经硝酸氧化可得十二双酸。
用途: 该品与六次甲基二胺缩合，可制得工程塑料尼龙6-12；与辛醇、丁醇等醇类生成的二酯，可作为聚氯乙烯、硝酸纤维素、乙酸纤维素的增塑剂，与辛醇合成的二酯还用作喷气式发动机和燃气轮机用高级润滑油，或低温润滑脂的基础油料；十二双酸还可用作饱和聚酯的改性剂，金属的沉淀剂以及香料、特殊聚氨酯的原料。
