Potassium carbonate sesquihydrate is used for manufacturing of soaps, pigments, printing ink, glass, pottery, other potassium salts and as an analytical lab reagent. It is also useful as a reagent for removing carbon dioxide from ammonia.

应用

Potassium carbonate sesquihydrate can be used as a sorbent for the removal of CO₂ from flue gas in precombustion process. It may be employed as a base in the cross-coupling of benzene boronic acid with benzoyl chloride in the presence of deposited Pd catalysts to give benzophenone.
It may also be used as one of the reaction components in the preparation of:

• 1,2,3-triethylimidazolium
• 1,2,3-triethyl-4-methylimidazolium
• 2-ethyl-1,3,4-trimethylimidazolium
