性质描述: 黄色针状或片状结晶。熔点361-362℃。能溶于热乙酸、热醇、氢氧化钾和醇溶液，不溶于水、醚、苯和氯仿。在醇溶液中显蓝色荧光。
生产方法: 由邻氯苯甲酸和苯胺反应生成二苯胺-2-羧酸(即邻苯氨基苯甲酸或N-苯基氨茴酸)，再在浓硫酸中脱水环合而得。在装有蒸馏装置和搅拌器的250ml三颈烧瓶中，加入10g(0.064mol)邻氯苯甲酸，10g碳酸钾，40ml(0.42mol)苯胺和0.1g新制备的铜粉。将混合物搅拌、加热，慢慢将反应产生的水蒸出来。约需3h。然后用水蒸气蒸馏法蒸出未反应的苯胺。将剩余物加活性炭脱色过滤。滤液中加入浓盐酸使结晶析出，冷却，滤出结晶，用少量冷水洗涤抽干。粗品用乙酸和乙醇重结晶，熔点为183-184℃。把5g邻苯氨基苯甲酸与35ml浓硫酸混合，在水浴上加热3h。冷却后，在强烈搅拌下加入40ml冰水.滤出沉淀。将它加到300ml2.5%的碳酸钠溶液中，加热，过滤，用水洗涤后干燥，即得吖啶酮。
用途: 有机合成。
