性质描述: 白色结晶体。具有难闻的气味。熔点31.5℃，沸点270℃，148-150℃（1.46kPa），相对密度0.8858（20/4℃），折射率1.4169（40℃）。实际上不溶于水（20℃时0.015g/100g），溶于醇、醚、苯、氯仿和二硫化碳，也溶于稀硝酸。
生产方法: 用椰子油、月桂油、山苍子油经水解生成月桂酸，同时副产癸酸，其收率为月桂酸的30%。请参见“月桂酸”。
用途: 主要用于制取癸酸酯类产品，其酯类用作香料、湿润剂、增塑剂和食品添加剂等。

应用
Decanoic acid is used in perfumes, resins, lubricants, greases, dyes, plastics, pharmaceuticals and food additives. It is involved in the preparation of wetting agents and sodium deconate, which is an active component in soap. It is also used as a plasticizer and as an absorption enhancer in guinea pig skin experiments. Further, it is employed in the generation of esters for artificial fruit flavors. In addition to this, it is used in agricultural chemicals, lubricant additives and surface active agents.
