结晶（乙醇）。熔点45℃。

生产方法:

用肉桂酸在无水三氯化铝参与下与苯反应（烃化），生成3,3-二苯基丙酸，将后者与乙醇在浓硫酸作用下酯化，然后以乙醇和金属钠还原得3,3-二苯基丙醇，进而在回流条件下以氢溴酸溴化制得该品。

用途:

心可定乳酸盐的中间体。
