液体。熔点-20--16.5℃，沸点101-101.5（2.8kPa），相对密度0.936，折光率（nD20）1.4634。闪点78℃。

生产方法:

于15℃以下，将薄荷脑-石油醚混合液慢慢加入五氧化磷-石油醚混合液中。于90℃左在回收石油醚，加水，冷却至10℃左右，分去水层，用碳酸钠溶液洗涤，再用水洗至中性，用无水硫酸钠干燥，减压蒸馏，收集87.5-90℃（1.73kPa）馏分，即氯代薄荷脑，收率75%。

用途:

有机合成中间体。有于合成计划生育药苯醇醚（避孕灵）。
