16:0-18:1 Diether PG (phosphoglycerol) is a class of glycerophospholipids that have hexadecane and octadecene chains attached to the sn-1 and sn-2 positions of the glycerol backbone respectively by ether bonds.

生化/生理作用

Ether linked phospholipids act as precursors for important signaling molecules. They contribute to 20 percent of the total phospholipids in humans. Pathological conditions arise due to genetic disorders affecting the synthesis of ether phospholipids. Ether glycerolipids act as membrane molecules and cellular mediators.
