性质描述: 无色液体。熔点19℃，沸点323℃，相对密度0.855（20/4℃），折光率1.4362。能与醇、醚、丙酮、苯、氯仿、四氯化碳混溶，不溶于水。
生产方法: 由十四酸与甲醇经酯化而得。将2kg十四酸和3L甲醇混合，加入200ml硫酸，加热回流10h。回收过量甲醇后，将反应物倒入冷水中洗去酸性，再以10%碳酸钠和水依次洗涤，减压蒸馏约得1.5kg成品。
用途: 用于有机合成、气相色谱及生化研究。
