性质描述:

无色液体或低熔点透明结晶体，具有丁香味，可燃。一般工业上出售的是三种异构体的混合物。熔点12-14℃，沸点214-224℃，相对密度0.9337，固化点2℃，旋光度[α]-0°10'～＋0°10'，沸程214-224℃，折射率1.4825-1.4850。1份松油醇能溶于2份（体积）70%的乙醇溶液中，微溶于水和甘油。有樟脑气味，辛辣味。

生产方法:

用23%稀硫酸处理松节油，使其中的主成分α-蒎烯转变生一水合萜二醇，将此中间体脱水得到粗制萜品醇，再经分馏、精制，精精品。原料消耗定额：松节油1730kg/t、硫酸（98%）650kg/t、烧碱160kg/t。

用途:

调配紫丁香型香精的主剂，耐碱性强，适用于皂用香精，其乙酸酯具有香橼和熏衣草香气，用于香精的配制。亦用于医药、农药、塑料、肥皂、油墨、仪表和电讯工业中，是玻璃器皿上色彩的优良溶剂。

α-萜品醇是一种单萜醇。它是互生叶白千层( Melaleuca alternifolia，茶树)精油的抗真菌成分之一。它还存在于牛至(Origanum)精油和迷迭香(Rosmarinus officinalis )精油中。
α-萜品醇是一种单萜化合物，主要存在于松树、迷迭香和茶树等植物的精油(EO)中。由于这些植物EO具有抗菌、杀虫和拒食活性，因此，它们有潜力成为天然杀虫剂/农药。

应用

α-萜品醇可用于通过脂肪酶介导的酯化反应合成乙酸和乙酸酐的α-松油基酯。
