性质描述:

无色液体，具有强烈的椰子香味，冲淡时，具有似桃、似杏香气。沸点136℃（1.73kPa），121-122℃（0.8kPa），相对密度0.9672（19℃），折射率1.4462（19.5℃）。溶于乙醇及大多数有机溶剂，不溶于水。具有一般内酯的性质，与碱作用生成羟基酸盐。该品商业上的俗名为椰子醛（实际上并非醛类）。

生产方法:

1.由β，γ-壬烯酸在硫酸作用下内酯化制得。壬烯酸由庚醛与丙二酸反应制得。将80%的硫酸与壬烯酸一起搅拌，内酯化反应完成后，用水洗涤反应物，以油层用碳酸钠溶液中和，再经水洗，将油状物减压蒸馏即得γ-壬内酯。2.由7-羟基正壬酸与硫酸共热脱水而得。3.用铈、钒等高价醋酸盐或醋酸锰（＋3）作氧化剂，由α-庚烯与醋酸反应而得

用途:

本品用于配制果香型饮料香精，如椰子香精、苦杏仁香精等，还用作高级化妆品调香用的香料。也是一种有机合成的原料。
